Logan Gilbert is a pitcher for the Mariners, helping to lead the team
to the American League Championship Series, where they lost to
Toronto. He won game 3 of the Divisional Series against the Detroit
Tigers, and returned on short rest to pitch two innings of scoreless
relief in Game 5 to help the Mariners win the series. He has a career
win-loss record of 47-36, with an ERA of 3.58 and 884 strikeouts. He
was named to the 2024 All-Star team for the American League. Gilbert
is outspoken about his faith; he has often cited Galatians
2:20 ("I am crucified with Christ, and therefore
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me") as his life verse. In
an interview prior to the Mariners' Faith and Family night, he said:
"I have a foundation that's so much deeper than what I
do…Knowing that, before I even go to a game, I'm already saved. I
have salvation. I'm known by the God that created me and the entire
world."
