J.T. Realmuto is a star catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. He
joined the Phillies in 2018, following a trade from the Florida
Marlins. He is a three-time All-Star and has been named All-MLB First
Team twice. He is a career .270 hitter with 180 home runs and 677
RBI. He has also won the Gold Glove award twice. In the off-season,
he signed a three-year contract to stay with the Phillies.
However, J.T. would be the first to say that his athletic
accomplishments are secondary to the role of Christ in his life. Last
summer, he and his wife hosted a "Faith and Baseball Night."
The Phillies' Instagram account described this as "a special
night of unity, inspiring conversation, and music." At this
event, J.T. shared: "My foundation is in Christ, it's not in who
I am on the baseball field…So for me, my foundation is Jesus. It's
what He's done for me on the cross. And this out here is just a
bonus."
