"I get my 'aura' from Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, and God
blessed me with parents who raised me in a way I wouldn't trade for
the world," says Cade Cunningham. The Pistons star's "aura"
refers to his confidence, grounded behavior and toughness on the
basketball court. He has been called humble but intense.
Cunningham, who "led one of the best high school teams in
history" (Montverde Academy in Florida), was named high school
player of the year in 2020. He briefly played at Oklahoma State and
was the number one pick in the 2021 NBA draft. "I know I'm
blessed," he has said. "I just try to, you know, represent
God's light as much as I can…."
