At the heart of "The Da Vinci Code" is a conspiracy, which alleges a massive, historic cover-up by the Catholic Church of the truth about Jesus, Mary Magdalene--and, more broadly, the nature of Christianity itself. In other words, according to this line of thinking, the faith founded in the name of Jesus did not develop in the way that he himself intended.
Do you agree with this? What would Jesus say about Christianity today? What would his opinions be on issues such as:
- The role of religion in politics and society;
- The way we interpret the Bible;
- Abortion;
- Homosexuality
- Intelligent design and evolution
- Relations between people of different faiths
