When you think of stars of the 80s, Mr. T is surely one of them. He is another celebrity who credits his Christian faith with giving him the strength to overcome a T-cell lymphoma diagnosis in 1995. During treatment and remission, he leaned heavily on God. He views his survival as a testament to God's grace. This experience inspired him to focus on humility, charity work, and preaching his faith.

When he was sick, he would often compare his suffering to the biblical story of Job, stating that bad things can happen to good people. As he said, "I believed in God when cancer come to me. Now when I speak, I speak with authority because I’ve been there."
