Penny and William came to visit yesterday in the hospital, just five hours after their baby sister was born. William seemed a little confused about whether the baby was still in mommy’s belly or whether this little creature nearby was actually his sister. Someone in my family made the brilliant suggestion that we host a birthday party for Marilee, so Penny and William sang Happy Birthday. When given the choice to hug Marilee or eat cupcakes, they both opted to start with the cupcakes.

All told, we are a happy family with many adjustments ahead.
