Yet another (see last week’s post) Books and Culture article that made me think, encouraged me, and was informative: “The Church on a Justice Mission.”  It describes the work of IJM (the International Justice Mission), the recent commitment among evangelical churches to social justice work, particularly around sex trafficking, and it offers sobering statistics about sex slavery, both internationally, and even within the United States.

Last week’s NY Times Sunday Magazine ran a story providing details about a new generation of abortion providers: “The New Abortion Providers” details the ways that pro-choice doctors are trying to move abortion procedures into doctor’s offices and hospitals and away from stand-alone clinics.
I’ll also take a moment to mention my friend Sara Hagerty’s blog: Every Bitter Thing is Sweet. I follow it regularly as she details her life with Eden and Caleb, siblings that Sara and her husband Nate adopted last year from Ethiopia. She’s a wonderful writer with a compelling and challenging story.
