Gigi Hadid says there’s something different about her relationship with Bradley Cooper — and it comes down to an honesty she hasn’t experienced before.

The 31-year-old supermodel offered a rare look inside her romance with the 51-year-old actor in a new interview with Vogue France, opening up about the relationship as she settles into what she describes as a more peaceful chapter of her life.

“What is beautiful about my current relationship, and so different from what I have experienced, is an ability to be deeply honest,” Hadid said. “To say what you think, when you think it.”

When the interviewer acknowledged that kind of honesty isn’t always easy, Hadid was quick to respond.

“I know. But if that’s impossible, it probably means he’s not the right person,” she said.

Hadid and Cooper have been romantically linked since late 2023, but they have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Hadid previously described their romance as “very romantic and happy,” saying their privacy wasn’t necessarily planned.

“It’s just not part of our relationship to share for whatever reason,” she told Vogue in 2025.

She gave fans a rare glimpse of their relationship in May 2025, when she posted a photo of herself kissing Cooper while celebrating her 30th birthday.

More recently, the couple fueled marriage speculation after they were photographed in Paris wearing matching bands on their left ring fingers. Reports have differed over whether the jewelry was wedding bands or “promise rings,” and neither Hadid nor Cooper has publicly announced a marriage.

But Hadid’s latest comments suggest she is enjoying where life has taken her.

“Right now my friends are saying to me: ‘Gigi, what’s going on? Looks like you’re 19 again,’” she told Vogue France. “I just think I’m… serene.”

Part of that serenity comes from the quieter life Hadid has built away from the fashion industry’s constant spotlight. She said spending time in the countryside with Cooper, her daughter, friends and animals helps keep her grounded.

“Living in the countryside surrounded by animals, with my daughter, my partner, my friends, is part of what recharges my batteries,” she said. “It allows me to appreciate the richness of fashion when I come back to it.”

Hadid shares daughter Khai with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik, while Cooper shares daughter Lea with former partner Irina Shayk.

Despite working in very different industries, Hadid said she and Cooper have also found a way to support each other’s careers without needing to understand every part of them.

“We don’t necessarily understand all the challenges of each other’s job, but the main thing is to have someone who supports you – and helps you keep your feet on the ground,” she said.

Hadid has previously said that knowing what you want from a relationship — and finding someone who does too — has become increasingly important to her.

“I just feel really lucky,” she told Vogue last year. “Yeah, lucky’s the word.”

That sense of contentment appears to extend beyond her relationship. After spending much of her adult life in the public eye, Hadid said she has learned to keep most of what matters to her away from social media.

“99% of my daily life is not online,” she told Vogue France. “What I’m posting is my way of celebrating the wonderful things in life. But Instagram remains 1% of my life.”

For Hadid, the result appears to be a balance she didn’t always have.

“Today, I have found a balance between my life as a mom in Pennsylvania and my public life,” she said.
