Actor Scott Baio is celebrating a major milestone as his daughter, Bailey DeLuca Baio, has committed to Providence College to play Division I golf. The Happy Days star took to social media to share his excitement, calling it a “proud dad moment” and highlighting Bailey’s accomplishment in joining the Friars golf team in the Big East Conference.
“Proud dad moment. Division 1 in The Big East Conference,” Baio, 64, wrote on X, sharing a photo of Providence College and his 17-year-old daughter wearing her IMG uniform. In another post, he shared a picture of Bailey pointing to a sign that read, “Welcome to Friartown” at the airport.

Bailey, who attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, also shared her gratitude on Instagram, expressing thanks to God, her parents, and her coaches for supporting her journey. “This has been years in the making,” Bailey wrote in the caption. “I give thanks to God and my parents first and foremost. To my very first golf coaches, my dad @realscottbaio PGA Ross F. @fugigolf77 and PGA Hans K. @bhbroncos for believing in me.”
Bailey’s passion for golf began at a young age when her father would take her to the golf course. “I got into the game of golf because my dad would take me onto the course, and I would hit the ball, and go play in a sand trap,” she shared. “After a few months, I began to hit the ball pretty well for a 4-year-old.”
Bailey, who is in the graduating class of 2026, said she and her parents moved from California to Florida to attend IMG and pursue her dream of becoming a professional golfer.
Bailey’s commitment drew support from several celebrities, including actress Kristy Swanson, who wrote, “What a gal, so well deserved.” Former Olympic figure skater Todd Eldredge also chimed in, saying, “That’s Wicked Pissah! She’ll learn that New England term soon enough. Congrats!”
In addition to her love of golf, Bailey has shown a strong sense of sportsmanship. In March, she posted a video message of support to fellow junior golfer Kai Trump, expressing her respect and telling Kai she had her back after learning about bullying incidents at a tournament.
Baio, a supporter of Donald Trump, also addressed an online comment that mentioned Bailey might one day golf with Kai, noting that although both are in the graduating class of 2026, they will compete in different conferences.
Bailey’s commitment to Providence College marks a new chapter in her golfing career, and her parents couldn’t be prouder. As she takes the next step, Scott Baio and his family are celebrating this significant achievement with gratitude and joy.
