Gabby Barrett wasn’t standing on a stage when she shared a moment that struck a chord with moms. She was standing in her kitchen, looking at rice scattered across the table and floor and admitting she was exhausted.
The country star shared the candid video Tuesday as she opened up about the pressure of trying to balance motherhood, marriage, family, friendships and a demanding music career.
“I am at a point right now in life where I’m just exhausted from trying to be a good wife, a good mother, a good daughter, a good sister, a good artist, a good friend, a good CEO of a business, a good … all the things,” Barrett said.
Then she showed fans what life looked like at that particular moment.
“I’m just standing here looking at a table with rice all over it – and that is all over the floor as well – that I am getting ready to clean,” she said, turning her phone toward the mess.
Barrett explained that she had already had a writing session that day and was parenting solo while her husband was away on a work trip. She’s also working on a new album while raising three young children.
“Having three little kids is quite the task,” she admitted.
Then Barrett summed up the season of life she’s in with six words: “I’m tired, but I’m grateful.”
Almost on cue, one of her children could be heard calling “Mommy!” from another room as Barrett began another sentence.
“And that’s my cue,” she said with a smile. “But new music is coming, and real life is happening.”

That glimpse of real life quickly connected with other moms.
“This is so real,” one commenter wrote.
“I’m in the same stage with littles,” another added.
One fan offered Barrett a longer message of encouragement, telling her she was “allowed to be overwhelmed” despite her fame. “Just bc you are famous doesn’t negate that you are human! We are cheering you on girl,” the commenter wrote.
For Barrett, the gratitude she expressed in the middle of exhaustion also reflects a theme that has long been part of her life and music: her Christian faith.
Barrett openly identifies herself as a “Follower of Christ” in her Instagram bio and has frequently spoken and sung about her faith. Her new song, “Every Minute Of It,” touches on surrendering her own plans to God and learning to embrace what comes next.
Her kitchen confession offered a simple reminder for parents in similarly exhausting seasons: gratitude doesn’t mean pretending you’re not tired.
Sometimes both things are true.
The house is messy. The work isn’t finished. Someone needs “Mommy” again.
And you’re still grateful for every minute of it.
