Sadie Robertson Huff is opening up about a deeply frightening moment that quickly turned into a powerful testimony of faith.

The “Duck Dynasty” star and author recently shared how her infant daughter, Kit, suddenly stopped breathing during what began as an ordinary evening at home. In an emotional Instagram post, Robertson Huff described the moment as unfolding in seconds.

“Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation,” she wrote, recalling how her baby began choking while sitting in her high chair as dinner was being prepared. The situation escalated rapidly when her mother stepped in.

“She pulled her out of the chair and put her in my arms just as she stopped breathing,” Robertson Huff said.

What followed was a frantic but faith-filled response. The family immediately jumped into action, combining practical steps with prayer.

“Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud,” she shared.

Despite the panic, Robertson Huff said she experienced a sense of divine guidance in the moment. Having previously watched videos on emergency response, she believes both preparation and her faith played a role in saving her daughter’s life.

“I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do,” she wrote. “I felt God’s Spirit guiding me … I remember saying out loud, ‘what do I do?’ and then immediately started doing it and declaring life.”

Moments later, what she describes as a miracle unfolded.

“[Kit] miraculously coughed and began to breathe,” she said, noting that paramedics arrived shortly after. The family spent the night in the hospital for observation, but thankfully, the infant made a full recovery and is now “perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day.”

Still, the emotional impact of the ordeal hasn’t faded. Robertson Huff admitted she is continuing to process the trauma.

“I’m currently walking through the waves of anxiety from the trauma of the situation,” she shared, while also expressing “immense gratitude” for what she believes was God’s intervention.

Reflecting on the experience, she encouraged others to be both spiritually and practically prepared.

“It happened so fast,” she wrote. “Preparation and knowledge in the spiritual and physical sense can be a gift that you can give yourself and your family.”

In a touching detail, she also revealed that her husband, Christian Huff, followed behind the ambulance as she rode with their daughter—and that a rainbow appeared overhead “the whole way there,” a moment she saw as a comforting sign of God’s presence.

Even in the aftermath, Robertson Huff is choosing faith over fear.

“We know that God has our children in His hands,” she wrote. “We can’t live in a state of fear … we have to trust God in all of it. … Please join us in thanking God for this miracle!”

The post quickly drew an outpouring of support from fellow believers, with author Rebekah Lyons writing, “Thank you Jesus for rescuing Kit,” and Bible teacher Jennie Allen adding, “So wildly proud of you and so grateful to God with you!”

For Robertson Huff, the moment is a reminder that faith isn’t just something you talk about—it’s something you live, especially in life’s most terrifying moments.
