For nearly three decades, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have quietly built one of Hollywood’s most enduring marriages — and now the actress is celebrating their latest milestone with a heartfelt tribute.

Parker, 61, marked 29 years of marriage to Broderick on Instagram by sharing a series of nostalgic photos and sweet memories from their relationship.

“May 19th, 1997-May 19th, 2026. 29 years. And counting,” Parker wrote alongside the post.

“Here’s to you my darling. With your favorite band joining me in serenading you. Us. Forever young,” she added. “Xxx, Your wife Sarah Jessica.”

The post featured three throwback photos of the couple displayed on a table, along with what appeared to be pieces of a wedding veil and other sentimental keepsakes from their special day.

The beloved Hollywood pair married on May 19, 1997, in New York City’s Angel Orensanz Synagogue. In true low-key fashion, the couple reportedly invited around 100 family members and friends to the ceremony without telling them it was actually a wedding. Guests thought they were simply attending a party.

Long before they became husband and wife, Parker and Broderick’s relationship began in the early 1990s after they were introduced through Parker’s brothers, Pippin and Toby, who founded the Naked Angels Theater Company. Broderick, now 64, was directing a play there at the time.

The couple would later share the Broadway stage together in the 1996 revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, further cementing their bond both personally and professionally.

Parker’s wedding attire also became a memorable part of pop culture history. Instead of wearing a traditional white gown, the actress chose a black dress — a decision that sparked headlines for years afterward. But Parker later explained the choice had nothing to do with making a fashion statement.

“I was too embarrassed to get married in white, and both Matthew and I were reluctant to have people pay so much attention to us,” she told Marie Claire in 2006. “Which is ridiculous, because that’s when you can relish the attention, when it’s natural.”

Years later, Parker revealed she wasn’t overly focused on the details of the ceremony or even the dress itself. Instead, her heart was set on Broderick.

“I never thought about a wedding dress. Never. Had not one daydream about it,” Parker told PEOPLE in 2018. “At one point, I just simply remember thinking, ‘God, I really hope he asks me to marry him.’”

Together, the couple built a family while navigating decades in the spotlight. They welcomed their son, James Wilke, in 2002, naming him after Broderick’s late father, actor James Broderick. Seven years later, the couple welcomed twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, through surrogacy.

In an industry where relationships often struggle under constant public attention, Parker and Broderick’s nearly 30-year marriage continues to stand out — a reminder that lasting love in Hollywood is still possible.
