Actor Josh Duhamel may be best known for his roles on screen, but these days, it’s his role as a husband and father that he treasures most.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Duhamel got candid about how hard it can be to juggle work in Hollywood with his growing family. Between acting, directing, and launching his own company, Gatlin, the star admits the pressure is real—but he’s learned where his priorities lie.

“I have to constantly remind myself how important it is—the most important thing I do—is be a good husband and a good father,” Duhamel shared. “So yeah, it’s a balance, but it’s been a good life.”

Josh and his wife Audra live far away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood in what he jokingly calls their “doomsday cabin” in northwest Minnesota, along with their 1-year-old son, Shepherd. The peaceful, off-the-grid lifestyle isn’t just for show—it’s a reflection of the simple, grounded life they’re building together.

And for Duhamel, it’s his wife Audra who helps keep it all in perspective.

“Audra is just one of those girls who we get each other,” he said. “She’s also from North Dakota, she’s a very practical thinker, she’s great with the kids, she’s an amazing wife, she’s beautiful, and she doesn’t get caught up in all the BS you know, she’s very straight, and I love that about her.”

That kind of authenticity and down-to-earth mindset is rare in Hollywood, and it’s clear that Duhamel cherishes it deeply. In a world full of fame and distractions, Audra’s simplicity and sincerity are a refreshing gift.

Outside of his family life, Duhamel is also passionate about giving back. As a brand ambassador for Bobcat, he recently partnered with the company to donate $28,000 worth of equipment to help Los Angeles firefighters. It’s part of Bobcat’s 2025 “Work Worth Doing” campaign.

“I think that we all can appreciate how important a strong firefighting community is, and these guys are some of the best in the world at it,” Duhamel said. “So I’m very proud, very grateful for their work, as are most people in this town.”

It’s clear that Duhamel is living with purpose, both at home and in the world. He’s not just talking about values; he’s putting them into action.

Whether it’s shaping land in Minnesota, raising a son, or building a strong marriage, Duhamel is choosing the things that last. And with Audra by his side, it sounds like he’s found something even better than Hollywood success: a life that’s real, rooted, and rich in love.
