Beauty queen Olivia Culpo took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband, NFL player Christian McCaffrey, are expecting their first child. “Next chapter, motherhood,” she wrote with a black and white image of her pregnant profile. This will be the first child for both of them, with the couple first dating in 2019 before tying the knot June 2024. Prior to getting married, Culpo spoke on her show, “The Culpo Sisters” about her hopes of being a mom. “I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can. It could be really hard for me to have babies,” she said. Culpo suffers from endometriosis. “Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways. You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes,” said Culpo. However, she remained hopeful. “I feel like I have to have kids ASAP.”

After the couple wed, Culpo joked with her followers that she wanted to “rip out my IUD and start trying immediately.” Culpo’s sisters, Aurora and Sophia spoke about Culpo’s desire for motherhood after the wedding. “I know she’s going to be a really loving mother,” said Aurora. “I know that she’s going to be very prepared. I think she’s going to have everything in place. Probably already picking out her children’s preschool. At the moment she’s probably already on the waitlist.”

Culpo had previously referred to their marriage as a “covenant.” “It’s the beginning of the rest of your life and it’s the union and bond of two people forever,” she said. The seriousness of the commitment impacted her choice of wedding dress, with Culpo opting for a more simple, traditional dress for their wedding. “When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I’m most beautiful, it’s absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered and elegant,” she said. McCaffrey’s teammate, Kyle Juszczyk, congratulated the couple in a post, writing, “Uncle Juice can’t [wait] to meet his godchild! Congrats guys!” His wife, Kristin, also congratulated the couple. “The best mom and dad there ever will be. We love you guys so much!!”
