The pair first met when Hailey was on 12-years-old while backstage with her father, Stephen Baldwin, when Justin made an appearance on the “Today” show. The interaction was actually captured on camera and resurfaced when the pair began dating years later. In 2015, they were seen kissing in public for the first time at Leonardo DiCaprio’s New Year’s Eave party in St. Barts. Justin and Hailey became engaged in July 2018 and tied the knot a few months later at a New York City courthouse. They had a larger wedding ceremony the following year in South Carolina.

Earlier this year, Justin interviewed Hailey for Vogue Australia’s cover story where he asked her what her favorite thing was about marriage. “My favorite thing about being married is honestly the companionship I feel we have,” she confessed to Justin for the February issue. “Genuinely, you are my best friend in the entire world. There’s nobody I would rather spend more time with or do anything with.” In the same interview, Hailey also spoke about the hardships of marriage, saying it’s not always easy. “You don’t feel it every day. You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m absolutely so in love and you are perfect.’ That’s not what being married is. But there’s something beautiful about it anyway — about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone.”
