“Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson shared a heartwarming picture of the moments after he baptized his granddaughter, Mia, explaining how she “found true freedom in Jesus.” Robertson, who’s preparing for the release of “The Blind,” a new film about his real-life journey from addiction to faith, shared Mia’s baptism story to inspire others to attend an event where they could get baptized and learn more about Jesus.

Robertson wrote on his Facebook page, “A few summers ago, I got to baptize my granddaughter, Mia. She accepted the good news and found true freedom in Jesus.” The photo attached to the caption shows Robertson embracing Mia, presumably after her profession of faith. Miss Kay, Robertson’s wife, also posted about the touching moment on her Facebook page, sharing her joy in seeing her family’s faith legacy reach the next generation.

Miss Kay wrote, “This was so special. It brings me so much joy to see my grandchildren get baptized and live their lives for Jesus.” Both posts aimed to promote the Robertson family’s “Faith, Family, Freedom Celebration,” which occurred in Monroe, Louisiana. Mia’s father, Jase Robertson, spoke at the event, and Phil prayed for the nation.

Robertson concluded his post by saying, “Jesus and freedom are always something to celebrate. It’s the right way to roll.” Robertson has long inspired fans to get baptized and embrace the Gospel, and much of that effort is rooted in his spiritual transformation.

Long before the Robertsons became household names and sparked nonstop laughs through their hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty,” running on A&E from 2012 through 2017, Phil Robertson faced an arduous journey. Far from the God-fearing man he is today, early on in his marriage to his wife, Kay, Phil was an alcoholic who almost imploded his life; then, he found Jesus.

Now, Phil’s story of almost losing it all, embracing Christ, and later inspiring millions will be told through “The Blind.” A synopsis for the film reads, “Long before Phil Robertson was a reality TV star, he fell in love, started a family, and began to spiral out of control. ‘The Blind’ shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.”
