It is so funny to hear lefties whining about politicians (that they promoted, encouraged and probably contributed to) raising taxes on the wealthy. Here’s a clue, Whoopie, if you don’t want your taxes raised, don’t vote for lefties. You’ve got a Democrat mayor (yeah, he says he’s independent and has called himself a Republican in the past, but no one in their right mind bought that) and city council, a Democrat governor, and a Democrat president, no wonder your city, state and federal taxes are going up. Not surprising at all, especially given the fact that Obama promised to raise your taxes (she’s making well over $200,000). Complaining that he’s actually doing is silly and pretty unfair. And don’t you want to be patriotic? Isn’t it time you paid your fair share? :-)Though, now would be the time to start your campaign, Whoopie, maybe you can raise enough of a stink that Congress refuses to go along with the tax increase.BTW, kudos to Obama for keeping his campaign promise of hitting those making $250,000 filing jointly and $200,000 for singles. I was afraid that he was going to lower it once he got in office. I’m glad he at least kept that campaign promise because we won’t be hit by this tax :-)(via)Update: Wow! Even the mayor of NYC is coming out against taxing the wealthy (which is actually a change in policy for him because he’s supported tax hikes in the past).

“We can tax the rich, except that, if you haven’t looked at the stock market lately, they aren’t making any money,” he said.

Yeah, and they’ll probably make a lot less so that they’ll avoid the limit. People are already admitting that they plan to work less so they don’t get hit with the higher tax (yes, that’s right they want to avoid taxes). So, under Obama our productivity will take a nose dive as people actively work to avoid tax increases.
