“Each day He carries us in his arms.” Psalm 68:19

The sight of a child lifting her arms to her father, entreating him to pick her up, is a blessed and lovely one. We carry many responsibilities as adults; we’ve learned the importance of autonomy and we understand the necessity of coping successfully with many concurrent tasks and pressures. Still, we approach our Father as little children who need His help. We simply aren’t required to carry the pressures we face on our own. We can lift them up to our God, and He will lift not only our burdens but us as well.

Father,

I lift my hands to you today, asking you to lift me up. Hold me so that I can look in your eyes and feel the joy that your gaze tells me I give you. Embrace me so that I can feel your heart beat. Carry me through the pressures I face this day. Sustain me through the storms I sense are coming. In your arms I rest secure. In your embrace I fear nothing. And from this place of strength and confidence, I approach my world, my duties, and my challenges with joy, for I am loved with an everlasting love and held in everlasting arms.

In Jesus’ Name Amen

“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.” (Deuteronomy 33:12)
