Richard Wurmbrand

Here is a video that will perhaps stir you to pray for some truly needy brothers and sisters.

It is provided by Voice of the Martyrs, which was founded by a remarkable giant of the faith, the late Rev. Richard Wurmbrand, the compassionate author of the  bestseller Tortured for Christ, which told of his suffering at the hands of the Communist government of his native Romania — and called for Christians everywhere to remember their persecuted brethren.

Tortured for Christ
I had the privilege of Rev. Wurmbrand’s friendship in the late 1980s — as I observed firsthand his kindness as he ministered and advised a mutual friend, a nationally prominent preacher who had suffered public disgrace. When all the others turned their backs on my friend, the compassionate Rev. Wurmbrand stood by him, prayed with him, advised him and guided him back into service for the Lord.

Voice of the Martyrs continues the Rev. Wurmbrand’s ministry — proclaiming to the world the plight of persecuted Christians.
