I’ve spent some time recently comparing the astrological charts for the 2014 outbreak of Ebola and the 2019 outbreak of COVID-19. On the face of it, there aren’t a whole lot of similarities. Sure, in 2014 Pluto was in Capricorn and Neptune was in Pisces, as they are now. But given that those planets are both really slow, I can’t attach too much significance to it.

(Wondering what the next few months hold in store for you? Write me with your date, time, and place of birth — and I’ll send you a free sneak preview!)

And yet I discovered a remarkable connection between the two outbreaks: a particularly lethal combination of paranoia and dis-information:

***

During the 2014 Ebola outbreak, Barbara Loe Fisher, President of the questionably named “National Vaccine Information Center,” said this:

“Some people in industry, government, and the World Health Organization did not want the Ebola outbreak to be confined to several nations in Africa — because that would fail to create a lucrative global market for mandated use of fast-tracked Ebola vaccines”

Of course, there were quack cures going around too. Did you know that you could keep yourself from getting Ebola simply by washing your hands? Or by kissing the corpse of someone who had died from it? No. Neither did I, and neither does any qualified medical professional.

There were also rumours that the Ebola virus was manufactured by Western pharmaceutical companies and/or the American Department of Defense and/or some shady global conspiracy. Don’t believe me? Check out an article from the Liberian Daily Observer dated September 9th 2014, entitled “Ebola, AIDS Manufactured by Western Pharmaceuticals, US DoD?” I won’t bore you to death with too many quotes from it, but it’s still available online if you care to read it for yourself. A lot of it will likely sound very familiar to you.

And of course, there were those ready to twist the situation for political gain. Representative Steve Stockman (R – Texas) said:

“It’s just bizarre there’s not enough action up front. I’m wondering if that’s intentional, in order to create a greater crisis, to use it as a blunt force to say ‘well in order to solve this crisis, we’re going to have to take control of the economy and individuals and so forth.'”

Future Fox News commentator Laura Ingraham came up with this particular gem, in reference to then-US President Barack Obama:

“It’s his father’s rage against colonialism, as Dinesh D’Souza wrote about, and maybe this is a way to continue to atone for that,” she said, in response to the notion that the Ebola outbreak was arranged and not naturally occurring.

Also, the host of a reasonably popular reality TV show at the time said on Twitter, in regards to a doctor who had possibly been exposed to Ebola returning to the United States:

“If this Doctor, Who so recklessly flew into New York from West Africa, has Ebola, then Obama should apologize to the American people and resign!”

… Sadly, the name of that reality TV show host escapes me at the moment. Maybe you can look it up for me.

Also on Twitter, Chris Brown… Yes, that Chris Brown… said:

“I don’t know… But I think this Ebola epidemic is a form of population control. **** is getting crazy bruh.”

Indeed, **** was getting crazy, bruh.

Any of this starting to sound familiar yet…?

So what was the net result of all this unsubstantiated hogwash in Africa, where people were actually dying from Ebola?

Many people in Africa refuse to believe that the virus even existed. Some villages in Guinea physically beat outside doctors and nurses coming in to help, and put up walls to keep them out. And to this day, whenever there are concerns about a fresh outbreak of Ebola, the entire cycle of nonsense start over again.

Every. Single. Time.

So, is there no astrological connection between what was happening then and what was happening now, and I deliberately wasted an entire blog entry saying that?

No. What I am saying is that whatever aspects are happening, wherever the planets are, and what transits you or your world are having? Astrology deals the cards — but it’s humans, and human nature, that plays those cards. And some humans would prefer to adopt a paranoid mythology based on little or no actual fact in order to explain the world than accept that you don’t have the answers.

Feeling superior because you believe nonsense is easy. Accepting that you’re in a new and dangerous situation and it’s hard to say how it’s going to turn out is hard.

That, and even when there aren’t many witches to burn lying around, there’s always a 5G cell phone tower somewhere to torch.
