(Wondering what 2020 holds in store for you? Write me with your date, time, and place of birth — and send you a free sneak preview!)

In Part One of this series, I talked about how to find the very important placements, or VIPs, in your birth chart being affected by the Saturn Pluto conjunction. In Part Two, I wrote about how the Saturn Pluto conjunction will be aspecting those VIPs in your chart. Today we’re going to look at the effects this transit is having, based on the nature of the VIPs it’s hitting in your chart.

Sun: if there is any one placement in your birth chart that represents your spark of life, this is it. It has a lot to do with your ego and how you think about yourself. It has a lot to do with your self-image and self-esteem.

Moon: if the Sun is your ego, the Moon is more like your emotional center. It’s where and how you find gut-level comfort in your life. It’s your instincts and basic drives. It also has a lot to do with how your mind works, before things like language and logic get in the way.

Mercury: like the Moon, Mercury has a lot to do with how your mind works. But this is more specifically related to thoughts and communication and logic than the Moon is. Mercury is your ability to plan and to follow directions and to apply common-sense to your life.

Venus: Venus gets a lot of credit for being in charge of “love,” and there is some truth to that. More specifically however? Venus is sweetness and affection and sympathy and your diet and your budget and your blood sugar levels.

Mars: Mars is the planet you use when you lose your temper on someone or something. It is also the primary source of your sex-drive, your ambition, and your ability to plow your way through obstacles.

Jupiter: Jupiter rules your life philosophy, legal matters, commitments of all sorts, and your sense of whether or not the world is running more or less the way it ought to be.

Saturn: Saturn gets picked on a lot because it rules things that we often don’t want to have to deal with. Things like structure and limitations and obstacles. It can often be a drag, but it is absolutely vital if you ever want to achieve anything lasting in your life.

Ascendant: this is what you look like and how you come across to people, both literally and figuratively. In many ways, the ascendant affect how the rest of your birth chart comes out and across to other people.

Midheaven: this has a lot to do with your career, but it is probably more accurate to say that it’s the ruler of what you’re doing with your life or what you want to be when you grow up. the tenth house may rule “your job,” but the Midheaven is more like “your calling.”

And yes, once again I’m skipping over Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron. They are a big enough deal that they are going to be getting their own blog entry in the near future.

So let’s take an example and put all of this together. You’ve had a look at the blog entry about finding your VIPs, and then put it together with the aspects being made to them in your chart. Let’s say the Saturn Pluto conjunction is square your Moon but trine your Mars and your Midheaven. The square is upsetting and difficult to deal with. The trine brings a lot of opportunities that may come with relative ease.

So in this example, you may not be feeling the least bit comfortable with your life or the things that usually give you some kind of happiness. On the other hand? It’s possible that a change in career or a major improvement to it will be exactly what you need to pull you through.

Got all that? Good. Come back tomorrow and we’re going to talk about the Eclipse that is happening closely opposite the Saturn Pluto conjunction, and what it will mean for you personally. And no matter what, don’t forget what is written on the cover of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy in big friendly letters: DON’T PANIC.
