Actress Candace Cameron Bure was filled with emotion when she encouraged her fans to help push back against the current “state of the world.” In an Instagram video to her 5.5 million followers, Bure said, “Do you ever scroll through Instagram and just get sad at the state of the world? That’s me right now.”

While overcome with emotion, Bure covered her eyes with her hands and squealed to show her frustration. After releasing her anger, she suggested a gratitude challenge and encouraged her fans to live a life of thankfulness.

Bure led the way by listing the things she’s grateful for, saying, “I am grateful for God, Lord Jesus Christ, who’s in control of all of it. I’m grateful that He’s already given all of us and me the ability to be justified before Him and be sanctified throughout the process of my life and that He redeems it all at the end,” she said.

The Fuller House alum confessed that she usually turns to gratitude in times of anguish. A few weeks ago, she took to social media to share her heartbreak over the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting. With tears in her eyes, Bure said, “With the tragedy and the loss of those 21 people, that is so hard, and as a mother, I grieve, and I just want to grieve with the people of Uvalde and the families.”

In a separate Instagram story, Bure shared that she felt the devil was attacking her home, saying that the devil’s spirit targeted her and her family after days of everyone being irritable with each other. Bure noted that her house is typically peaceful and happy, so the fact that everyone was so on edge was a surprise. Then she said an epiphany, saying, “It finally hit me. I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s a spirit of irritability, there’s a spirit of crankiness, there’s a spirit of confusion. Oh, the enemy’s attacking!”

She continued, “I think so easily, we forget, and we want to just blame one another when things go wrong. And we forget that there’s a very real and powerful enemy at work every single day of our lives.” Then she clarified that the enemy was the devil and proclaimed that he had no authority in her home.

The mother of three made a declaration of faith, saying, “Jesus has all authority, all power in my home, and reigns in my home! “I call upon the Holy Spirit. I pray out any evil spirits that are in here,” Bure continued. “And I put on my worship music; it’s just filling my home. So my home is filled with Scripture, and God’s Word, God’s power, God’s truth, and I just keep reminding myself of that.” After making her spiritual declaration, Bure advised her followers to keep their spiritual eyes open.

Recently, the actress took an executive role at GAC Media; there, she’ll produce and star in family-friendly and faith content while developing her own content. It can be sad and daunting to think about the state of today’s world. However, if you sit back and remind yourself that God is in control, everything will be fine.
