Deputy Sheriff lost his life in a work-related traffic accident in 2014, leaving behind his 8-month-old daughter, Taliya.

For the little girl’s 3rd birthday, a photo shoot was set up where Taliya could honor her fallen father. Mary Lee, a photographer based in Georgia, captured images of the young girl wearing her father’s uniform while she prayed.

The photographer says a yellow butterfly followed the girl around to each shooting location and Taliya said her father was sending her kisses from heaven.

At the shoot, Taliya also released balloons into the sky, something she’s done every year since Cruz passed.
