Corey Feldman says that his faith in God has protected him and helped him keep a “positive attitude” through decades of trauma and darkness in Hollywood.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the actor and musician—best known for his roles in The Goonies, Stand By Me, and The ‘Burbs—reflected on his 50-year career and how he has endured despite seeing the entertainment industry’s “nastier sides.”

“You know what I’ve learned is that God is good. God is my protector, God keeps me strong,” Feldman shared.

Feldman’s life hasn’t been easy. In his 2013 memoir Coreyography, he described growing up with a drug-addicted mother and a musician father who encouraged him to get high as a child, all while being pushed into the harsh world of Hollywood. He has been open about his struggles with addiction and the sexual abuse he and his late friend Corey Haim suffered at the hands of powerful men in the industry.

Over the years, Feldman has taken a stand to protect young actors, often facing backlash for speaking out against abuse in Hollywood. “That’s what makes secret societies secret societies, right? They hide in the shadows, and then they gaslight people who try to expose them. So that’s what happened to me,” he said. “I’ve dealt with tons of blowback because I came forward—tons of abuse.”

When asked if Hollywood still carries the darkness he witnessed, Feldman didn’t hesitate: “Absolutely. Wherever there’s power, there’s corruption, and wherever there’s corruption, there is darkness. But wherever there is darkness, there was light.”

Despite the challenges, Feldman says he has learned to trust that God will protect him, no matter what forces try to derail him. “As long as you have faith in that, and you keep bringing your best foot forward, and a smile on your face, and a positive attitude, I believe we can get past all of those things. And I believe that good always wins over evil, and that’s just the way it is.”

Today, Feldman says he is grateful for the life God has given him. “My life is good. I’m grateful to God for giving me this opportunity to breathe today and have a chance to make our lives better each day,” he said. “And I think we should all remain grateful and remember to be grateful to God because that, I think, is the key to happiness above all other things.”

Despite the darkness he’s faced, Feldman says he remains thankful for the blessings in his life—a fulfilling career, a supportive girlfriend, and his now-grown son—and continues to trust God’s faithfulness through every season.
