A&EA&E has announced that it will be reviving the popular “Duck Dynasty” franchise in a new 20 episode, two season follow up entitled “Duck Dynasty: Revival.” According to the announcement, the show will air summer 2025. According to A&E, the show will follow, “Willie and Korie [Robertson] and their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, the next generation of Robertsons living on the family homestead in Louisiana.” The show ran previously for 11 seasons on A&E, starting in March 2012, before the Robertson family decided to end the show in 2017 to focus on other ventures. “The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and relatable humor. Duck Dynasty’ played a huge part of the success of A&E for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming, A&E and Lifetime. The family also became very well-known for their strong faith, which featured prominently in the original series.
The announcement also promised the return of fan-favorites such as Si Robertson, better-known as “Uncle Si” and his sister, Kay Robertson. Willie and Korie’s children John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, and Rebecca will also make appearances. Willie and Korie also adopted a son, Rowdy Robertson, in 2016, although he was not mentioned in the press release. When the show began, the Robertson children were all still growing up, so this new reboot will get to catch up with them as they focus on married life and parenthood. One notable name missing from the lineup is family patriarch Phil Robertson, who the family revealed was struggling with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and blood disorder. His son, Jase Robertson, shared about his father’s health struggles. “Phil’s not doing well. I think I spoke on the 1,000th podcast, we were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems. It’s like accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body. And he has the early stages of Alzheimer’s. So, if you put those things together, he’s really not doing well. He’s struggling.”
Willie and Korie stated they were excited to be rebooting the series after so many years. “Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home. We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures,” they said.
