The 2024 Cannes Film Festival is currently taking place in the south of France, where celebrities are gathered to celebrate this year’s films and grace the red carpet. Many celebrities in attendance wore stunning outfits, while others chose to make more of a statement with their clothes. 70s music legend Iggy Pop was one of the celebrities with a more out of the box approach to their outfit. He wore a low-cut jacket that revealed his bare chest and flip flops. Other celebrities like Cate Blanchett opted to include small details to signify their stance on the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

But one guest stole the show when she arrived in a beautiful black gown with an ultra-long train that featured an image of Jesus Christ. The guest, who has not been identified, arrived on the red carpet for the world premiere screening of  Le Conte de Monte-Cristo (The Count of Monte Cristo) and caught the attention of many. The three-hour-long film, based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, was directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière and met with applause lasting for 12 minutes.

Photos of the dress began to circulate online where some people where in favor of the dress while others were not. One user on X, formerly Twitter, said “And why is his face being dragged ON THE FLOOR??” Another user on X commented, “That crowd could benefit from a reminder they need a savior, Jesus.”

Le Conte de Monte-Cristo, a three-hour-long film, is based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, was directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière and met with applause lasting for 12 minutes. The adaptation stars actors such as, Pierre Niney, Anaïs Demoustier, Laurent Lafitte, Pierfrancesco Favino, Anamaria Vartolomei and Bastien Bouillon.
