The Teen Choice Awards were last night, and perhaps unsurprisingly so, it was pretty much all vampires, all the time, getting the love from teen voters. Most especially, everything Twilight related (Twilight garnered 12 awards!), but also ‘Vampire Diaries’ too.
The New York Times reports in their Arts brief, “Vampires Rule at Teen Choice Awards”:

“”The Twilight Saga” film series walked away with a dozen awards, including those for villain and fantasy movie, and CW’s “Vampire Diaries” won seven in the television category. Voting online, youthful fans gave the actor Robert Pattinson, above, star of the ‘Twilight’ films, four awards, one of which was for a non-Twilight performance, in the drama “Remember Me.””
The AP covered the event too, inquiring, rather facetiously, as to whether, “they should switch the name to the Vampire Choice Awards?” and quoting Katy Perry who said that, “This is what this night is all about. . .vampires.” The AP commented on Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson’s multiple wins as well, commenting like the New York Times about Pattinson’s joy at winning for something other than Twilight for once:
“Voters continued to really like “Twilight” stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, who were present to accept their multiple awards, seemingly handed out like candy at the freewheeling ceremony. Of Pattinson’s four wins, one was actually not related to the supernatural saga: choice drama movie actor for “Remember Me.””
Oh poor Robert! Will he ever be able to live Twilight down? Will we ever see him as anyone other than Edward Cullen? To be honest, I think not.
“It’s great to win something outside of ‘Twilight,'” said Pattinson.
