Singer Katy Perry recently went on a French radio show and spoke about the controversy around Lady Gaga’s new music video “Alejandro,” in which the flamboyant artist swallows a rosary, wears a red rubber nun’s robe, and simulates sex, among other Christian blasphemies.Perry, who shot to stardom with her single “I Kissed a Girl” and who comes from a strong Christian upbringing (her father is a pastor) says that she might be raunchy in her own act at times but that “sexuality and spirituality are two separate things and when you decide to put them into the same subject, it gets interesting.” Judging from Perry’s tone when she says “interesting” it seems like she really means “not cool.”Thanks to Perez Hilton for posting the video.
