Therese Borchard writes Beyond Blue, a sister Beliefnet blog about spirituality and depression. She recently wrote two celebrity-related posts that perked up our ears over here at Idol Chatter. First, she weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding TV therapist Dr. Drew, who claimed that Tom Cruise’s involvement in Scientology could be the result of a mental illness.
Second, she shared some quotes from a recent interview Angelina Jolie gave to Entertainment Weekly. The magazine wanted to know how Angelina reconciles her history of depression and self-injury with her current persona as a happy mom and humanitarian. Angelina thinks it’s important to show her growth, and Therese mostly agrees, although she has some comments on what should and shouldn’t reveal in public.
