As Fields points out–and as researchers are rightly quick to note–there are risks associated with drinking coffee, from the insomnia and anxiety that caffeine can cause to the largely observational nature of some of the research on coffee’s health benefits. 

But coffee drinkers can celebrate the many studies that have shown positive relationships between a hot cup of java and a significant number of health conditions.  So pour a steaming cup and drink to your health.
