Here’s the latest from the crossroads of faith and media:

Two talk show legends come together for inspirational romantic dramedy. Then Came You, starring Kathie Lee Gifford (Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee, Today with Kathie Lee Hoda) and Craig Ferguson (The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson) and co-starring British screen icon Elizabeth Hurley will have one-night showings nationwide via Fathom Events on September 30th, followed by an on-demand and digital release on October 2nd. The film, distributed by Vertical Entertainment, is written by Gifford who also produced the film (along with Matthew T. Weiner and director Adriana Trigiani and collaborated on its score (with Brett James).

Then Came You is the story of a lonely widow (Gifford) who plans a trip around the world with her husband’s ashes to visit the locales they loved at the movies. Her first stop is Scotland where she stays at a beautiful estate and meets an innkeeper (Ferguson) who changes her life forever.

Asked about what drew her to take on the project as both a producer and director, Trigiani pointed to “romantic Scottish vistas, gorgeous, funny Craig Ferguson and the delightful, one-of-a-kind entertainer that is Kathie Lee Gifford- that’s magic in a movie.”
Rich Goldberg, co-president of Vertical Entertainment describes the movie as “a sincere rom-com about a woman overcoming loss and starting a new
chapter of her life,” adding “We hope that this sweet and uplifting film brings some escapism and positivity to audiences this fall.”
Vertical Entertainment is a global independent distributor known for the award-winning films as Miss Juneteenth (a recent Sundance Festival favorite), Other People (starring Molly Shannon) and Under the Shadow (the UK’s official submission for a 2017 Oscar). Anticipated upcoming releases include Hard Kill (starring Bruce Willis), Robin’s Wish (about the final days of Robin Williams), Critical Thinking (the directorial debut of star John Leguizamo) and the sci-fi adventure Skylin3s (the third installment of the popular Skyline sci-fi film franchise).
