Try this meditation today. It’s very peaceful.

Do it BEFORE you overeat. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Focus your mind’s attention on your breathing: in and out, in and out. Do this for as long as you can. End with three nice, deep breaths and hold them at the top and bottom of the cycle, and then open your eyes. Even just one minute of this will instantly calm you and focus your thoughts.

You might end with a short prayer:  “God (or Spirit, or Higher Power), I love You.”

Try to be private. Close the door, turn off the phone and the lights, and put a little sign on the door: “Please do not disturb. I’ll be available shortly.”
