Miss Kay Robertson, beloved matriarch of the “Duck Dynasty” family, is experiencing a season of deep sorrow and physical decline following the death of her husband, Phil Robertson.

In an interview with USA TODAY Network, her son Willie Robertson revealed, “Kay is not in the best of health. We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”

The 77-year-old did not attend the June 1 premiere of Duck Dynasty: The Revival in Monroe, Louisiana, a noticeable absence that highlighted her current struggles. The event came just days after Phil Robertson passed away following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

“Some of it is, she is just depressed,” Willie shared. “She lost her partner of 60 years.”

Miss Kay was able to appear in some early episodes of the show’s reboot, but as her health declined, she was unable to continue filming. Concerns about her condition first surfaced in April, when her son Jase Robertson revealed on the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast that she had suffered a fall and developed an infection that led to hospitalization.

“We were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it,” Jase said at the time, adding that she now requires nearly round-the-clock professional care. “My mom is not doing great physically.”

Despite the heavy toll, the family has rallied around her. Jase shared that her visitors during her time in a care facility were lovingly dubbed “Kay’s Kingdom,” bringing comfort to both her and the family.

Before his death, Phil had also acknowledged the importance of their presence in boosting her morale. “She’s helping his morale,” Jase recalled of his father’s words, pointing to the enduring love and support the couple shared even in their final days together.

Willie recently honored his father in a moving Instagram post, writing, “Most of our conversations were not about hunting or business, but about sharing the Gospel.” He added, “Phil, I love you and already miss you… Not sure how people deal with loss without the Lord.”

Duck Dynasty: The Revival, which premiered eight years after the original series ended, focuses on Willie, his wife, their adult children, and grandchildren. The original A&E series aired from 2012 to 2017 and became a cultural phenomenon, peaking at nearly 12 million viewers.

As Miss Kay navigates this challenging time, the Robertson family continues to lean on faith, family, and the legacy of love Phil left behind.
