Reality star Teddi Mellencamp is holding fast to hope — and seeing answers to many prayers — as she continues her battle against Stage 4 cancer.
The 43-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum shared an emotional update with her followers on April 23, revealing that her latest scans showed remarkable progress: all her tumors had either shrunk or disappeared. Doctors now believe she is on track to being fully healed if her treatment stays on course.
“I just finished with all my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good,” Mellencamp shared, holding back tears in a heartfelt video post.

Mellencamp, who first revealed her brain tumors earlier this year after being hospitalized for severe headaches, later learned the cancer had metastasized to her lungs. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma, a battle she has faced with both bravery and brutal honesty.
In her latest update, Mellencamp explained that she has about six more weeks of immunotherapy left. If everything continues to progress, she hopes to soon be cancer-free. “Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity,” she wrote, adding, “I’m going to keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me.”
Despite her optimism, Mellencamp has not shied away from sharing the emotional toll of her diagnosis. Speaking candidly in interviews and on her podcast, she admitted that facing a 50/50 success rate with immunotherapy was initially discouraging. “I wouldn’t buy a car that’s only gonna drive 50% of the time. I don’t want this,” she said with raw honesty. However, she learned that the relatively short history of immunotherapy treatments accounts for the uncertainty, not necessarily her individual prognosis.
The journey has stretched her faith and tested her sense of control. “For the first time, I’m really scared,” she said. Still, Mellencamp continues to find strength — often through humor, family support, and faith. She credits her resilience to choosing positivity even on hard days and acknowledges that there are moments when sadness and fear creep in.
Her father, legendary singer John Mellencamp, has been a strong, if not sometimes overbearing, source of support. Teddi joked that her father now calls her “more than he’s ever made me talk to him,” even broaching subjects like funeral arrangements. Through it all, their bond has deepened in unexpected ways.
As a mother of three young children, Mellencamp’s fierce fight for health and healing carries even deeper meaning. Her honesty about the highs and lows offers encouragement to others facing health battles of their own — a reminder that it’s okay to feel fear, but it’s just as important to cling to hope.
“God is working,” one follower commented on her post, and indeed, Teddi’s journey stands as a testimony to perseverance, faith, and the power of community prayer.
Mellencamp’s story is a powerful reminder: even when the path is filled with uncertainty, hope and faith light the way forward.
