24-year-old Lindsay Smith is sharing her amazing testimony of how God delivered her from witchcraft and demonic possession. Smith’s battles began at an early age. She was adopted at birth into a Christian family, but, speaking to Delafé Testimonies, strange visions kept her from connecting with her parents’ Christian faith. “I was seeing ghosts, I was seeing stuff, and I would tell my Christian family, ‘This is what’s happening to me. I’m literally able to see in the spirit.’ So that was my childhood. I was seeing all these spiritual things, and I didn’t understand,” she recalled. When she tried to reach out to other Christians, they told her she was imagining things. “They had no explanation for me. That made me think in my mind, ‘Well, okay, my answer is not in the Christian church.'”
Her quest for answers led her down the wrong path, seeking abusive relationships and being raped at one point. She also suffered from depression. One of the men she dated while in high school introduced her to the occult. “He actually started teaching me about astrology, Ancient Egypt, all of the things like the New Age and the witchcraft stuff. I ended up getting out of the relationship. It took me like nine months to get out. The relationship was very abusive, narcissistic, and it involved mind control.” In 2017, she started college and began a relationship with a woman who was transitioning to a man, further deteriorating her grasp on “truth.” She became known as a “white witch” to her friends.
Despite dabbling in the occult, she still found herself deeply unhappy. She attended a Bible study after attending a warlock class. The Bible study was the first time she prayed to Jesus. She asked Him to help her read the Bible, something she’d found she couldn’t do before. Her prayer was answered, and she began to read the Bible in a comprehensive way. She even began to hear the voice of Jesus, leading her to look up YouTube videos. “Went on YouTube, instantly searched ‘Jesus,’ saw hundreds of ‘New Age to Jesus’ testimonies. No other stuff came up. I didn’t know what New Age was. I started watching these videos for a whole week straight,” she said. It was the change she needed. She left her same-sex relationships and got rid of her occult items. She gave her life to Christ on May 23, 2021. She was delivered from 26 demons and has stopped seeing demonic forces.
Speaking to The Christian Post, she shared how important her early years were in allowing the devil to get a grip on her. “The devil’s agenda is to get you in your child years so he can keep you in your adult years,” she said. “I first started seeing spirits, which I thought were ghosts. I thought I had a gift of being able to see ghosts. But they were really demons,” she said. She said she is still growing in her faith. “I’m still trying to figure God out. There’s so many facets to Him. I can’t even sit here and be like, ‘I know everything about Jesus.’ I know what the Bible tells me. I know I experienced Him. I know how I talk to Him. I know when He answers my prayers. I know that about Jesus.”
