Jessica Simpson called on a higher power and encouraged her followers to listen to God. In an Instagram post, the singer and author wrote, “I know people are struggling with fear, anxiety, and also with sorrowful loss. My faith in God, knowing that all things are possible with Him, has been my strength when I feel overwhelmed. Psalm 34 says, ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’”

Simpson told her 5.3 million Instagram followers she had “many prayerful moments.” She continued, “It’s in these moments I feel true peace and pure connection to hope. I urge everyone to cause yourself to let go, be silent with listening ears toward God. ‘Lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.’ Proverbs 3:6.”

The “With You” singer, whose father, Joe Simpson, was once a Baptist minister, ended her post by calling on fans to join her “in praying for the leaders around the world including our president, governors, mayors, politicians, scientists, doctors, and all healthcare workers.”

She wrote that prayer is “not political” but “necessary,” adding, “We are all in this together, so we must stand united. I encourage each and every one of you to stay home, stay strong, and stay on bended knee.” It’s no secret that Hollywood hasn’t always been kind to Jessica Simpson. The singer, who rose to fame during the late 90s and early 2000s pop craze, was only 17 and a preacher’s daughter trying to figure out where she fits in.

Acknowledging her trials and tribulations, the singer has said, “We all go through trials, but not one thing has ever made me question God. I have a great relationship with God. I can talk to Him, get mad at Him, or get frustrated with Him. But, ultimately, my faith is what defines me.”

Simpson relied on her faith and God’s amazing grace to bring her to the place of peace and contentment she is today. Now, at 42, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer finally feels comfortable in her skin, crediting her unshakeable faith in God for helping her.

“I am very proud of my faith, resilience and strength over the last 4 decades,” Simpson captioned a post on Instagram for her 42nd birthday. “Everything in my life that has or hasn’t happened yet makes turning 42 very exciting because I know what it takes personally to remain inside of DETERMINED PATIENCE.”

In 2020, Simpson released a memoir titled “Open Book,” which detailed her struggles with childhood sexual abuse, relationships and alcoholism. In an interview, Simpson said things took a turn in her life when she realized the toll her alcoholism was taking on her family, especially her kids.

“I just realized that I had to surrender,” she continued. “Now I’m strong enough to deal with anything that comes my way because I don’t have something to retreat to that will numb me from going through it.” Jessica Simpson is another celeb who isn’t afraid to share her faith openly, telling everyone how faith helped her through hard times.
