According to Express, six Christians were severely injured in an attack by Hindu radicals in India.

The radicals stormed a prayer meeting in India’s Pradesh state. Forty or so Christians had gathered at a pastor’s home. During the attack, the radicals verbally and physically assaulted those who were gathered.

In addition to the physical attack, Bibles and church properties were damaged. The attack was so bad that six Christians needed immediate medical attention.

According to a report by Christian Solidarity Worldwide, the radicals threatened to kill the Christians if they continued to worship there.

This Christianity attack is coming at a time when there has been a major Christianity crackdown and Christian persecution is at an all-time high. Open Doors USA  says that 215 million Christians experience high levels of persecution in the countries on the World Watch List. India is ranked number 10 on this watch list for extreme persecution.

We can’t forget the story of Asia Bibi, a Pakistan Christian mom of five who was jailed for blasphemy. She was acquitted in October 2018 after spending eight years on death row for her Christian faith.

According to Open Doors USA, “the primary force for persecution in India is Hindu nationalism, which advocates for the belief that India belongs to Hindus and people of other faiths should find somewhere else to live, work and worship.”

Since the current ruling party took power in 2014, attacks on Christians have increased and Hindu radicals face no consequences.

Let us pray for those around the world who continue to be persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ!
