Need a laugh or a little lift this summer?

Then be sure to catch “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon on the NBC mid-week series.

Cannon, husband of pop superstar Mariah Carey, adds comic relief and much-needed segues, usually with his wild dancing, between tryouts.

Cannon isn’t rude or mean to the talent hopefuls either, but his gentle mocking of some of the less, ahem, “talented” acts is usually hysterical.

It’s hard to imagine anyone but Cannon in the role of host, even if ex-talk show host Jerry Springer did it previously.

I’m glad Springer stepped aside … and Cannon danced right in.
