I spent the last six weeks entrenched with a dynamic group of young people. As always, I end up learning more from them than I could ever teach them. There is something magical about youth and being child-like. Over the course of our time together we bonded as a family. We fought with each other […]
So many of us often find ourselves in place of seeming barren conditions and hopelessness. We’ve been taken out by life and the thought of forging ahead and seeking greatness seems daunting and even pointless. However, there is a secret trait that every single triumphant person possesses and that is: Resilience.
All champions in life have been knocked out and left for dead. But what separates them from the common-folk in life is their ability to bounce back in spite of the obstacles they face. Here’s a fact: you’ll never know the depth of your greatness if you don’t know the depth of your trials and tribulations. Circumstances come in life not to destroy us, but to change us for the better. How many times have you heard a cancer survivor talk about the grueling process of chemo and the sickness they felt? They never knew what was inside of them until they were put to the test. Please understand, I’m not making light of cancer, it is a very serious disease. I am, however, saying that for some it wasn’t until the diagnosis and process that they truly understood what was inside of them.
Many of my clients come to me in a defeated state. Some have gone through a painful divorce. some a troubled childhood and some have just had a string of bad circumstances. But, after a couple of sessions with me, they discovered that inside of them is well of greatness that they hadn’t drawn from. The same goes for you and I! There is well inside all of us that has deep waters of greatness.
We must never allow the set-backs of life to knock us out for the count. There is purpose and an expected end for you and I. We must be focused and driven and though we may get side-tracked, our minds must be made up that we are going to fight no matter what happens. A great way to envision this is to imagine yourself as a beach ball in a pool. No matter how hard life tries to push you down in the deep, you always rise back to the top. That’s how we should see ourselves! Be Resilient.
Remember we have the ability to not only change our world, but the world as a whole….BE GREAT!!
Until Next Time,
