Next month it will be five years since I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii from Oahu. When I was in the middle of moving someone stole a statue of Jesus, some money and a large amethyst crystal cave geode from my office. I understood them stealing the amethyst, it was worth a lot of money, but I never did understand stealing Jesus.
Last night I tuned into the news and they had a segment on about a pawn shop they had just raided. They had recovered a lot of as they put it odd, stolen property. I looked up just in time to see an image of my long, lost amethyst. I never thought I would see it again.

Earlier in the day I was looking at the small amethyst I had bought to take its place. I was thinking about moving it to another location and I had a fleeting thought about my old one. Then I went off to walk my labyrinth. Imagine my surprise when I saw my crystal!
Ever since they stole Jesus I have been looking for a replacement. The statue I had was a very kind and happy looking Jesus, no signs of suffering or bloody hands. When I talk to the detective I’ll ask if they found Jesus as well.
For the past several years a number of my animals have died. Now I am in the process of getting puppies, kittens and baby chicks. The cycle begins anew. Life truly is a cycle, the tide is in, the tide is out, one season flows into the next and we are born, we live and die.
The greatest gift we can give ourselves is to savor every moment, not matter what that moment contains.
With love, aloha and a big smile
Susan
