I love the summer time, when all the lovely flowers bloom.  I have flowers that start when there is still snow on the ground and some that bloom right up to the first frost.  I like all kinds of flowers, but especially zinnias.  They are so easy to grow and come in so many colors and sizes.

Just take a few packs of seeds and toss them on the ground, cover them up and give them a drink.  God will do the rest.  If you look at a zinnea carefully, it almost looks like there is a flower inside the flower.  It’s amazing!  Or, I am easily impressed.  I like the pink ones the best…..I think.  Although,  the orange ones are nice too.

In the fall these little fellows will make their own seed for next year.  That is unless the birds  eat them all first.  This year I planted them around the birdbath so maybe I will need to buy new seed next year.  That’s okay, they don’t cost much and they bring such joy to me and my neighbors.

God must love flowers too.  He referred to Jesus as “the Lily of the Valley” and the beautiful “Rose of Sharon”.  They are a simple delight on a warm summer’s day.  Take time to enjoy the zinnias and smell the roses.
