Apples and Peanut Butter: A Perfect Pairing

posted by Prayables

Apples and Peanut Butter: A Perfect PairingI fix my husband breakfast each morning. My grandchildren are served the same breakfast when they visit. I put peanut butter on their daily apple. It makes their breakfast less boring and is good for their health.

Peanut butter is packed with heart-healthy monounsaturated fat as well as vitamin E, magnesium, potassium and protein.

However, not all peanut butters are created equal. Here are some factors to consider when purchasing peanut butter:

  1. Oil. All peanut butter has oils. Stir your peanut butter before spreading.
  2. Sugar. Natural brands have about half as much sugar per serving as commercial brands.
  3. Natural. Be sure to read the ingredient label, since “natural” does not mean it has no added sugars and oils. True natural PB has only peanuts and a little salt.

Here are four great choices for a healthy peanut butter:

  1. TEDDIE OLD FASHIONED ALL NATURAL
  2. SMUCKER’S NATURAL
  3. TRADER JOE’S ORGANIC
  4. WHOLE FOODS 365

AND GRAMMAS YOU KNOW WHY APPLES ARE HEALTHY: AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY!!

Do Something GOOD Today: Make yourself a peanut butter sandwich with a healthy choice of peanut butter.
