Your favorite Dysfunctional Chef  is celebrating Memorial Day with a National Burger Weekend!  However, she’s not just sharing any old burger; she’s sharing her best secret salmon burger recipe, loaded with healthy ingredients and bursting with taste!

You can fire up the grill, or cook ’em on your stove.  Either way, these burgers are yum delicious and will be a sure hit at your Memorial Day celebration!

Ingredients:

1 (16 ounce) can salmon, drained and flaked
2 eggs
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup red bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup yellow bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup panko
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil (unless you are grilling your burgers; then you know what to do, yes?)

Directions:

In a medium bowl, mix together the salmon, eggs, and the rest of the ingredients with the exception of the olive oil.  Divide into 6 portion and then form into 6 firmly packed patties.

If not grilling, then heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the patties, and cook for 4 minutes per side, or until nicely browned.

Serve with condiment of your choice, lettuce, tomato, on one-slice of your favorite bread or two, or a bun, or just plain – up to you!   You know, like a burger!!!
