What Your Words Say About You

posted by Jennifer E. Jones

Have you listened to yourself lately? What kind of words are coming out of your mouth?

I’ve heard a person out loud berate themselves and it just disturbs me. “Ug! I’m so stupid. What’s wrong with me? I’ll never get it right.” You wouldn’t want to say that to another person. It would hurt their feelings. So why would you ever say it to yourself?

This video is the perfect illustration of how important your words are. Take a look, then make a pledge to speak more kindly to yourself.

Patience is indeed a virtue that one forced to maintain in an impatient enviornment where professionals admire themselves more than those that admire them.

I needed to read this post and watch the video. Lucky that I found this
page because I seriously needed to be reminded about how my words dictate what
happens to me. I guess, just like many other people, I have a tendency to be
negative about myself. It goes farther than self-doubt and being overly modest.
The words that I say to myself are sometimes very hurtful and demeaning and you’re
right when you said that if I direct those words to other people, it would
definitely hurt them. Most of the time, I think I am kinder and more patient to
other people than I am to myself. I am thinking that by being self-critical, I
can push myself to do better. However, I realize that negativity, particularly
to myself, would do me no good. It would slowly eat away my self-worth. Thanks
to this blog and other inspirational blogs like http://www.caare101.org. Their motivational
tips on business and leadership really help.

The Problem with Pain
I’ve heard people say, “How do I get over something if it still hurts?” And yes, forgiveness is key, whether it’s aimed towards yourself or someone else. However, it’s not really the main issue. What people really want to know is, “How do I deal with the pain?” The problem with pain
