Katy Perry Talks About Lady Gaga ‘Alejandro’ Controversy

posted by dross

Singer Katy Perry recently went on a French radio show and spoke about the controversy around Lady Gaga’s new music video “Alejandro,” in which the flamboyant artist swallows a rosary, wears a red rubber nun’s robe, and simulates sex, among other Christian blasphemies.Perry, who shot to stardom with her single “I Kissed a Girl” and who comes from a strong Christian upbringing (her father is a pastor) says that she might be raunchy in her own act at times but that “sexuality and spirituality are two separate things and when you decide to put them into the same subject, it gets interesting.” Judging from Perry’s tone when she says “interesting” it seems like she really means “not cool.”Thanks to Perez Hilton for posting the video.

I like the two but I don’t see anything wrong with what Lady Gaga did.

  • Wait, what?

Isn’t this the chick that simulated lesbianism for attention and a career? Yeah, she can just shut up and screw off.

I’m not sure whats going on at this site, the name beliefnet, followed by insiration.spirituality. faith.? it has a benevolent sound, and might lead some to believe it is godly. that may well be, but what god, is my question. I doubt very much it is the god of the king james bible.
I would hazard a guess that it is related more to satanism, disguised as some new age enlightened chistian faith. Americans are constantly bombarded in media with satanic imagery that is very seductive. this site seems to support it with a wink and a nod, as if to say, its just entertainment.
but more on topic, I think it is entirely appropriate that this gaga character wears the catholic nuns robe, since the catholic church is the seat of satan.

Im sorry, but doesn’t Katy have the right to have her own opinion? I love how opinionated people feel like they have the right to tell her to shut up. Get a life!
