The ADL’s Passion for Mel

posted by

The Anti-Defamation League has formally accepted Mel Gibson’s apology for his anti-Semitic outburst last Friday. After calling Mel’s first attempt at apology “unremorseful,” the ADL has helpfully offered to take the “Passion of the Christ” creator up on his offer to meet with Jewish leaders. “Once he completes his rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, we will be ready and willing to help him with his second rehabilitation to combat this disease of prejudice,” the ADL says in a release.

Phew! It’s good to know that such a beautiful moment of interfaith cooperation can come out of a drunken-driving/anti-Jewish-ranting incident.

Good for ADL and good for Mel. Let’s hope some real reconciliation and healing takes place.>

Good for Mel and good for the ADL for forgiving and moving on. As the first poster said, on a daily basis, I hear phrases that are un-PC such as “That’s so GAY!”, “I’m no Indian Giver!”, and “What a retard!” The persons aren’t intentionally being mean, they are just uneducated and not sensitized. Forgive and move on and take the higher road; the officer who heard the slurs has moved on.>

Jesus didn’t die for your sins. The Jews did. And we continue to be crucified every day.>

I am Native American, and have yet to hear an apology from the great white father. Why make an issue out of something that will always be an issue.>
