Doesn’t it seem like some days, news headlines are dominated by cancer?  Here’s what jumped off the screen today–two stories that highlight the tragedy and bravery, the horror and human triumph, of the disease:

A 10-Year-Old with Breast Cancer – Hannah Powell-Auslam is going through something no pre-teen ever imagines: treatments for breast cancer.  She’s undergone a mastectomy and is looking at chemotherapy to treat the cancer that spread to her lymph nodes.  This brave girl told the CBS Early Show, “I’m going to set an example. If there’s something wrong with your body, you tell your parents.”

Farrah Fawcett Continues to Fight – The actress is battling a rare form of the disease, anal cancer, which according to CNN affects only 5,000 people a year in the United States.  Click here for an MSNBC article about her brave documentary, or to watch the entire piece.
