doggy_yoga.jpgWith Portuguese Water dog Bo instated in his new White House home, no doubt we can all brace for a fresh doggy-breath scented gust of puppy fever.

This happily coincides with the resurgence of “doga,” or dog yoga, a phenom covered in a recent NYT article. Here’s how they describe it:

“Doga combines massage and meditation with gentle stretching for dogs and their human partners. In chaturanga, dogs sit with their front paws in the air while their human partners provide support. In an ‘upward-paw pose,’ or sun salutation, owners lift dogs onto their hind legs. In a resting pose, the person reclines, with legs slightly bent over the dog’s torso, bolster-style, to relieve pressure on the spine.”

Aw. Seems like the perfect stress reliever–dog cuddling plus downward-dogging. Maybe they’ll let me borrow Bo to try it? Have you done doggy yoga? Love it, hate it, don’t need to try it to think it’s ridiculous?
