Raudat Tahera at night

Raudat Tahera

This is the mausoleum of the late 51st Dai ul Mutlaq, Syedna Taher Saifuddin AQ, and the focal point of Bhindi Bazaar, Mumbai. Upon the four interior walls is inscribed the entirety of the Holy Qur’an, in gold.

The entire Bhindi Bazaar area is due for a massive renovation and reconstruction, funded entirely by his son and successor, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS. The architectural drawings of Bhindi Bazaar in 2014 are breathtaking.

(see more of my photos here – I will be adding many more).

Valentine's Day and Islam - the virtues of mohabbat (love)
Happy Valentine's Day! I am biased towards appreciating Valentine's Day not just for it's Gujarati origins but also because it's my birthday. However, not all Muslims share my appreciation. Here's a typical example: In its official Friday sermon text distributed to mosques in the Muslim-major
