Make the most of it!

September 23, 2014 marks the Autumnal Equinox, the second day of the year when day and night are exactly equal.

The Fall (Autumnal) Equinox is important, since it signifies the transition into the ‘dark cycle’ of the year:
“When the sun passes through the autumnal equinox, the evil forces of darkness are said to be ruling. On the three darkest days of the year, the sun is dead from December 21 to 24. His resurrection restarts on December 25, when the sun starts to ascend again.”

There’s a particularly interesting connection between the rising of the sun on December 25, and the story of Jesus Christ, which you can learn about here. For our purposes, this is in no way an ‘evil’ time, just like the Earth seems to go to sleep during this time in order to bring forth new life in the spring, it signifies the time for us to turn and look inwards in order to prepare ourselves for new growth.

What this means for you, is this is a especially powerful time to dedicate, or rededicate yourself to your spiritual practice.
Be it resolving to pray more often, meditate regularly, read the Bible from cover to cover in the next year, anything.

Now is the time, today is the day!

This window will stay open for roughly three days or so but the most powerful opportunities are today.
Remember, today is yesterday’s tomorrow; so whatever you’ve been putting off now is the time to get after it! Now is the time, and here is your chance!
